2025 has been a challenging year for civil society organizations, both globally and in Peru. We have witnessed the erosion of spaces for dialogue, the intensification of polarizing rhetoric, and the imposition of greater restrictions on those of us working to defend rights and the environment. In this context, the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law has strengthened its role as an organization that provides evidence and builds bridges to promote more informed and transparent public decisions through advocacy, research, and the implementation of nationwide projects.
This document highlights the key milestones of a year of sustained work on critical issues such as hydrocarbons, protected natural areas, the defense of marine areas, the fight against illegal economies, and the protection of environmental institutions, among others. As we approach our 40th anniversary, this report reflects a sustained track record of institutional commitment and the conviction that it is possible to drive positive change even in complex contexts.
