The Peruvian Society of Environmental Law (SPDA) and the Universidad Científica del Sur (UCSUR) have launched the first Masters in Environmental Law in Peru, a pioneering program that aims to promote sustainable development and environmental protection in the country. This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of professionals in the legal and other fields related to sustainability.

The Master’s degree will be developed virtually over 17 months, and the title of Master in Environmental Law will be awarded on behalf of the nation. This comprehensive educational experience will include a study trip to Pace University in New York (ranked number one in environmental law by US News Rankings).

The academic direction will be led by Isabel Calle, Executive Director of SPDA, with the participation of distinguished national and international professors. From a multidisciplinary approach, topics such as environmental justice, environmental impact assessment, environmental quality, climate change, forestry and wildlife management, environmental regulation of mining and energy, negotiation and resolution of environmental conflicts, among others, will be addressed.
