As is public knowledge, a judicial process is underway that seeks to question the legality and constitutionality of the prohibition of large-scale fishing in our Natural Protected Areas.

In response to this threat, the SPDA has submitted a legal opinion that provides legal arguments confirming the constitutionality and legality of this provision in light of our Political Constitution, the legislation applicable to our Natural Protected Areas, and the application of the precautionary and preventive principles that govern our environmental legislation.
