Human Development and Environment

SPDA

Well-being and quality of life in various dimensions, such as economic and social, depend on the state of natural resources. Therefore, the institutional framework and the public policies aimed at the country’s growth must seek to raise the standards that guide and measure the progress of the different axes of development.

We advocate that the country’s economic development be carried out with respect for human rights, especially environmental rights; so that the environmental factor is taken into account in public policies, legal and sectoral norms, in order to achieve a sustainable use of natural resources and not to compromise the needs of the present or those of future generations.

Human development is inextricably linked to the environment. It is clear and undeniable that well-being and quality of life in various dimensions, such as economic and social, depend on the state of natural resources.

Therefore, the institutional framework and the public policies aimed at the country’s development must seek to raise the standards that guide and measure the progress of the different axes of development. Therefore, within the framework of the opportunity offered by the country’s accession process to the OECD, the SPDA identifies and contributes to the discussions and processes of formation, review and updating of public policies in regional and global instances to address national challenges.
