On September 13 at 6:00 p.m., at the NM Hotel (Av. Pardo y Aliaga 330, San Isidro), there will be a photography workshop: “Stories in Flight: bird photography for the conservation of fragile ecosystems”, a space that seeks to inspire young people and adults to connect with nature in order to contribute to the conservation of fragile ecosystems.
Participants will receive guidance from experts in nature photography, who will help create a deeper bond with the natural environment, encouraging a greater commitment to conservation.
The event, organized by the SPDA, will feature the participation of nature photographers Steve Sanchez, founder of Kuntur Birding with more than 15 years of experience guiding birding tours in South American countries such as Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador and Bolivia; and Miguel Morán, a communicator and photographer specializing in socio-environmental issues, author of the photograph of the endemic Peruvian Spatula finch (Loddigesia mirabilis), which appears in the series of Peruvian 100 soles banknotes issued for its Bicentennial. Morán is also known because in 2022 he published the photographic essay “Emplumadas”, where he portrayed the birds of the district of Miraflores for more than eight years.
Also participating in this workshop will be Angélica Gómez, from the SPDA's Forests and Ecosystem Services Program, who will explain what fragile ecosystems are and why we must work to conserve them.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn bird photography techniques and discover how their images can be a powerful tool to highlight the importance of conserving the country's most vulnerable ecosystems.
Space is limited. To participate, register here.
