Valeria Sausa has been working as a Legal Assistant in the Conservamos por Naturaleza initiative of the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law since June 2025.

Valeria is a lawyer graduated from the Universidad Científica del Sur and has more than five years of experience in the field of environmental and administrative law, specializing in natural resources. She has complemented her training with diplomas in Administrative Law and Sanctioning Procedures, Mining Law, and Socio-Environmental Conflicts.

During her career, she has worked at the CMS Grau law firm, providing legal advice to companies in various sectors on environmental compliance, occupational health and safety, solid waste management, and environmental management instruments, among other areas.

As part of the Conservamos por Naturaleza initiative, she conducts research, regulatory analysis, and drafts legal proposals related to ecosystem conservation, protection of surf breaks, and private conservation areas.

Among her achievements, she earned her law degree with honors thanks to her thesis entitled “The need for regulatory measures to prevent light pollution in Peru.” She has also participated in processes to strengthen territorial rights and defend collective rights, contributing legal research and legal support.
