Nicol Vásquez Rodríguez currently works as a legal assistant in the Marine Governance Program of the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law (SPDA). Since 2024, he has been assisting with regulatory analysis and drafting legal documents related to marine conservation, other effective area-based measures (AEMs), and international frameworks such as the BBNJ Agreement. He also participates in organizing technical events and liaising with stakeholders in the fishing sector.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in law from the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM) and a specialization in administrative law from the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences (UPC). She has previous experience in public institutions, law firms, and non-governmental organizations, working as an intern and legal consultant on issues of environmental law, administrative law, and ocean governance.
She has contributed to legal assessments on solid waste in artisanal fishing, marine policy analysis, and regulatory proposals to strengthen marine environmental management. She was a fellow at the International Migration and Refugee Law Moot Court Competition (Ghent University, Belgium) and an exchange student at the Universidad del Rosario (Colombia).
