Joseph Artemio Díaz Sánchez currently works as a Legal Specialist at the Loreto regional office of the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law since October 1, 2019.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law and Political Science from the Universidad Peruana del Oriente. He has experience in environmental, criminal, civil, and administrative law, as well as conflict management and resolution. He has completed an advanced specialization course in “Environmental Crimes and Crimes Against Strategic Natural Resources” at the Attorney General’s Office, as well as a postgraduate diploma in “Environmental Management in Transportation and Electricity” from UNAP. She has more than five years of experience in the environmental field and has worked on titling processes for native and peasant communities, conservation instruments, and access to natural resources.

As a legal specialist, he currently provides legal assistance in improving conditions for the establishment, management, and financial sustainability of protected areas; promoting regulatory improvements for adequate access to natural resources; and defending the well-being of indigenous peoples.

He is a member of the technical team representing the SPDA in the approval of the Municipal Ordinance that declared the approval of technical procedures for the pruning of shrubs in green areas of the city of Iquitos.

Member of the GOREL technical team that developed the first Administrative Sanctioning Procedure for Regional Conservation Areas in Peru.
