Jimmy Carrillo Saavedra

Jimmy Carrillo Saavedra is currently the Manager of Communications of the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law since 2012.

Jimmy is a journalist with a Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Barcelona and a Bachelor in Journalism from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He has experience in the design of communication strategies, plans and campaigns, as well as in the management of various projects and teams. He is also currently the journalistic director of the news website Actualidad Ambiental. 

As Communications Director, he is currently leading the institutional communications strategy, as well as awareness and advocacy campaigns. 

For this work, Carrillo has received several awards, such as the National Environmental Award 2015, the National Journalism Award for “Las rutas del oro”, or the Powder Award – On Think Tank for The Best Communication Campaign.
