The short film “Shaman”, whose story is that of the harakbut Julio Yuri Yagar, who lived the first years of his childhood in isolation, within what is now the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve (RCA).

"Shaman", as Yuri Yagar is known in the indigenous community of Shintuya (Madre de Dios), is an audiovisual production by the Peruvian Society for Environmental Law (SPDA) and RCA that follows the work of this indigenous sage who strives to ensure that new generations do not forget their culture and traditions.

“The day I no longer exist, I want to be remembered as the best arrow maker,” Yuri emphasizes in the short film, as he searches for a special wax called ‘Kor’on’ with which he makes the hunting projectile. In addition to teaching how to create the best arrows, he will take his son on a journey that will connect him to his origins.
