This Monday marked the start of the fourth edition of the Aceleradores por Naturaleza course, organized by Conservamos por Naturaleza, an initiative of the Peruvian Society of Environmental Law - SPDA, with the support of the Wyss Academy for Nature. It is a free, virtual, Spanish-language course aimed at young Latin Americans who want to advance their professional careers in conservation.

To access the course, those interested must go through an application and selection process. This year, 30 people from Peru, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Uruguay were selected (between individual and team applications), who passed the evaluation of more than 180 applications from 10 countries.

"When we designed the course, we asked ourselves what topics we would have liked to know about when we started our professional careers, and based on this we put together a complete proposal to provide solid tools for creating and managing conservation projects", says Carolina Butrich, director of Conservamos por Naturaleza.

The 15-week course covers key conservation topics such as: analyzing conservation challenges, designing innovative solutions, implementing environmental initiatives, and communication techniques.

In addition, participants will join a Latin American network of youth who have previously taken the course and are developing innovative solutions to the region's diverse environmental challenges.

"The commitment of diverse young people to address environmental challenges in their own regions is admirable, and AxN helps translate this passion into solutions and opportunities for collaboration", adds Dr. Ursula Harman, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer at the Wyss Academy.

With this class, there are now 121 young agents of change who have completed the course and who, year after year, have demonstrated their commitment and talent to ensuring the conservation of our natural spaces.

This course is part of SPDA's various efforts to strengthen the capacities of the strategic actors with whom it works. Throughout the year, courses, workshops, training programs and others are part of a large offer to generate more professionals oriented to nature conservation.
