Diana Álvarez Calderón is a Peruvian lawyer who graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). She later completed a master’s degree at the Centrum Católica-Tulane University. She served as Minister of Culture for just over three years, from July 24, 2013 to July 28, 2016.

Alvarez Calderon has served as head of the Human Development Department in the Ombudsman’s Office and as a member of the Cabinet of Advisors of the Municipality of Miraflores. In addition, she has been in charge of the Administrative Office in the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice; member of the Organizing Commission of the Summit of Ministers of Justice of Ibero-America and President of the Special Commission in charge of organizing the patronage to support the General Archive of the Nation, among other important positions and responsibilities such as being in charge of the Penitentiary Reform Project (2004-2005) and the PER-Procuraduría Ad hoc Project.

She has also been a member of the Board of Directors of the Instituto del Ciudadano and a member of the Board of Directors of the NGO Desarrollo en Democracia.
