Adaptation and mitigation

We promote the search for a sustainable future. Our projects strengthen vulnerable communities and lay the foundations for a more balanced and resilient planet in the face of climate challenges.

Adaptation and mitigation to climate change are necessary measures to safeguard the natural environment and human rights. In our country, it is key to consolidate environmental institutions to strengthen these two strategic arms for managing the climate emergency.

At SPDA we align, promote and contribute to the implementation of adaptation and mitigation measures transversally in institutional public policies, as well as in the actions of key stakeholders. 

These are some of our key actions:

• We produce key information guiding decision making towards the effectiveness of adaptation and mitigation measures in the country.
• We participate in decision-making processes to influence the inclusion of the adaptation and climate change approach in the country.
• We contribute to raising the standards and modalities of adaptation and mitigation measures considering principles of interculturality and intergenerationality.
• We direct our field actions towards the standards of adaptation and mitigation to climate change.

Through our work, we have achieved important milestones, such as actively participating in the passing of the Framework Law on Climate Change, contributing to the regulation of said law, made by the Ministry of Environment, participating and contributing in the production of key policy instruments, like the National Policy on Adaptation.
